Stationary keeper

Image
For some reason I thought to Google this the other day though I can't remember what got me thinking of it.I was disappointed that I couldn't find much information out there on the subject. I know some people don't write letters these days but I am lucky to have about fifteen pen pals that not only flood my mailbox with letters but I also do the same for them. Anyways I read someplace about making a stationary holder out of a placemat but sadly no free directions were given on how to make it. So, several weeks ago I bought a placemat for $2 and decided to make one myself. But I was too chicken until yesterday to try to sew one. What was I waiting for? It  was a piece of cake. Using some tablets I got at the store, I started sewing. I didn't measure anything until I was done and it just happened to fit everything I had in mind. Although I was originally thinking of a sticker pocket, and completely forgot about envelopes, the two fit in there fine.I made the stamp pocket …

Boxy bag

I posted this boxy bag for sale on Ravelry. If it doesn't sell, I may keep it myself. It's the perfect size for sock knitting or making the beekeeper's quilt.

Dish drops

My soap has arrived! I was so excited when my friend brought it over. I had actually forgotten that I'd ordered it last week.I used it tonight and forgot how much I like it. I found a bottle of Seventh Generation at Wal-Mart last week. I was actually impressed by the way it cleaned the greasy dishes I washed. It was $3 a bottle for 25 ounces. But I use probably close to 2 Tablespoons per sink load. I'm just guessing as I squeeze two times around the sink and then add hot water. I do know I use more than half a teaspoon. As much as I liked it, I don't want to get hooked on it since Wal-Mart never keeps what I like in stock. The legacy of clean soap says on the bottle to use 3 ml per sink load. I had a device that measures ml so I measured exactly that and was able to wash two sinkfuls of dirty dishes. I was impressed! I love the cheery citric scent too. The seventh generation I found was unscented. They had a lavender one but not interested in that at all!Anyways, I really l…

Summer

It's hard to believe summer is coming to an end and school will be starting soon. Seems like just yesterday I was counting the days until school was out. It's been a hot summer but I've enjoyed it. The cool nights and breezy mornings make up for the sweltering afternoons.I know I haven't blogged for awhile here but I hope to start back up regularly soon.I've been busy crocheting cat toys and donating them to the animal shelter. I also sell pet themed items (cat toys, animal themed knit wash cloths) and donate the money to a local spay and neuter group that offers low cost services to others. I'm working at the moment on knitting dish cloths to sell as well. I'll post up finished pics later. I've got my etsy shop up and running again too. I hope to add new items each month. I've got so many groups I want to donate to so I'm thinking of things I can make and sell for them. (donating the proceeds to them)www.noelwright.etsy.comI'm hoping the app…
