Siding

Siding

While Nick's been driving bus trips for the school, I've been busy removing the siding.
It's been raining a lot so I haven't had much time to get a lot done but I'm hoping to this week. More pictures to come later!

Tired of losing stuff to clutter

On Saturday, after Nick left for work, I decided to play my music cd that Nick got me for Christmas. The soothing flute music is actually energizing enough to keep me awake and I needed something so that I could stay focused on my knitting projects.

I reached into the cupboard where we keep the cd's and was shocked to discover the cd was not in the usual place. I had just moved the cd's and movies so I looked in the place we had previously kept them. Still not there.

Okay. Where did it go? I began digging through every cupboard that I could think of where it might be and still could not find it. There were several cupboards I've been meaning to go through but hadn't yet so thought it would be a good time to do so. I took EVERYTHING out and sorted through it all. I even grabbed a 40 gallon sized trash bag and started chucking out what I didn't want. I made my way through each room in the camper and still no cd. I even texted Nick and asked him where he thought it might be.

Throughout the night, he gave suggestions on where to look next but by the time his shift ended there was still no cd to be found. I had to chuckle when Nick got home and helped himself to all the same cupboards looking through each one. Some of the cupboards were somewhat organized when I got done with them, while others looked like a tornado went through them.

His search efforts still showed no cd. So, the next night, when he went off to work, I searched again. This time looking in ALL the cupboards. Even under the couch. Several times. Still no cd. By this time, I had played all our other cd's but none matched the grace and beauty as the one I looked for. I could not think of where this cd had been taken to. Nick assured me I would eventually find it but somehow I felt it was gone for good. Usually, when I misplace something, I'll pray that I can find it and I usually feel drawn to a particular spot. And if I look there, then I'll find it. (As was the case of a notebook I was looking for. I kept getting drawn to my closet even though I had searched it quite thoroughly. It turned out that the notebook was within another notebook, in the closet!)

But as the case for this cd, I only felt drawn to the bedroom. And no cd was there. I kept looking in all the same cupboards hoping to find something. But nothing. Just when I was about to give up, I went outside to the outside storage compartment area. Awhile back, I had placed some bags to take to the thrift store, but after needing the trunk space, I took those bags and stored them in the front compartment. Upon looking through the bags, guess what I found? A handful of cd's I no longer wanted AND MY MISSING CD!!!

I was so thankful that I never took those bags to the thrift store!! And have no recollection of putting my favorite cd in with the unwanted ones. Nevertheless, I am more than thrilled to not only have my cd, but also to have a somewhat organized and decluttered camper. I ended up filling that entire 40 gallon trash bag full of trash where it now sits ready for trash day on Wednesday. I can only hope in my haste to search for the cd, that I did not throw away anything that I wish to keep.
